Mobility studies

ANALYSE, DEFINE AND DESIGN

Public Transport Authorities can benefit from Transamo’s expertise right from the earliest stages of their mobility projects. Mobility studies help to substantiate, define and design their projects.

Transamo also improves the efficiency and quality of service of existing transport networks by conducting network restructuring studies, increasing commercial speed, etc.

Given the varied nature of mobility projects, their contexts and issues, Transamo has built up an experienced multidisciplinary team that has the flexibility to adapt to client expectations.

Made up of engineers, architects, urban planners, geographers and economists, and with a range of expert know-how in fields as varied as data analysis, modelling, urban integration and operations, Transamo’s Mobility Studies unit is tasked with conducting all the preliminary aspects of mobility projects, including a financial, socio-economic and environmental analysis.

1. Planning documents

  • Regional coherence plans
  • Urban mobility plans
  • Master plans
  • Regional inter-modality plans, regional development plans

2. Transport and travel plans

  • Omni-mode mobility plans
  • Creation or restructuring of public transport networks
  • Development of transit hubs
  • Parking studies and plans
  • Traffic plans
  • Active mode routes
  • Car-sharing
  • Company and inter-company mobility plans

3. Opportunity/feasibility studies

  • Modelling, public transport traffic forecasts
  • Traffic modelling and micro-simulations
  • Socio-economic surveys
  • Environmental impact analyses
  • Public transport cost and funding studies
  • Pricing studies
  • Technical feasibility
  • Operability
  • Urban integration and development of public areas around transport infrastructures
  • Development and operation of multi-modal transit hubs

4. Preliminary and programming studies

  • Trams
  • BRT
  • Trains
  • Tram-trains
  • Cable transport systems
  • River shuttles
  • etc.

Transamo conducts its studies using transport modelling (CUBE), micro-simulation (VISSIM), GIS (MapInfo, ArcGIS), CAD-CAM (AutoCAD, SketchUp), illustration (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign) and data analysis and processing (Access, Excel) software.
